EW built the world’s biggest fish feeding barge in 2017 from design to ready product. All process from Idea to ready barge was performed in just 8 month.

The main idea was to construct a OEM fish feeding concrete barge.

The process took place in Moen slip Ottersøy Norway, EW was responsible the total scoop of works form concept to final outfitting.

Almost all items used to construct the barge was prefabricated in our workshops in Estonia.

The barge was not only the biggest but also the first with semi hybrid and heat generation.

Process:

Talks regarding expected total volume and grade of final product.

Production of initially idear and possible GA layout.

EW together with moen kraft betong AS agreed upon the right layout, budget and method of construction.

Application and Approval from local authorities.
GA and other relevant documentation is delivered to 3part approving bodies for preliminary approval and guidance. A strong HSE (health, Environmental, Safety) project platform is approved and implemented.  Special permission for cranes and other equipment is granted and staff is trained.

Floating construction site:

To lower the time of dock use we immediately after the hull was finished, mowed the floating hull. It was tugged to nearby kay for continues building of the superstructure, and outfitting.

Design lock and signing of production planning.
After global design lock the actual structural design will begin, also design of all the prefab items will start. In this case it was taken in to consideration the important factor of all prefab units had to be transported by truck.  Also Elektro, Mechatronics and Hvac levels and design codes was locked.

Start of Local works on site and simultaneous of prefab Items in Estonia building simultaneously.
The concreate works was started in Ottersøy Norway, frameworks for the bottom of the 20x40m plate of the barge was installed.  In our Estonian workshops construction of the 16 x 4m silos, large sections of reinforcement for concreate was prepared.

Design, innovation, choice of other equipment is preformed.
During building time of the main hull, our design and production team is securing supply of all needed smaller items in right time. All selected items is addabted to the 3D model for securing the absolute integration and functionality.

Test and approval of Items parts in Estonia.
The equipment produced in Estonia is pre tested through a FAT and QA process before loaded to trucks.

Dynamic shipping and logistics from Estonia production to Building site in Norway.
A amazing 43 semi Trailor full loads was shipped during the project of 6 month. Due to lack of space on Remote building site it was of high importance the trucks/parts was shipped in right order and precises time.  In other words as soon as the truck arrived parts was immediately used in foregoing production.
